Senior Mackenzie Carney also received the Gerry Cooley Award, the Relays Outstanding Performer (HS Girls). Carney capped an outstanding meet with her second straight victory in the 400 hurdles, giving her four titles at this year’s Relays. Along with anchoring the winning shuttle hurdle team, she ran on the winning 4×200 relay quartet and won the 100 hurdles for the second year in a row. This comes after she claimed three titles last year: 100 hurdles, 400 hurdles and shuttle hurdle relay. She’s the first athlete to complete that triple twice at the Relays. Carney sped to a decisive victory in this year’s 400 hurdles, running 1:02.87.
