On December 11, Waukee High School hosted the South Central Iowa Bandmasters Association (SCIBA) District Jazz Festival. Jazz bands from around the Des Moines area were part of the competition. Northwest Jazz Lab and Jazz Orchestra performed exceptionally. Northwest’s Jazz Orchestra got 1st place in Class 4A. This performance qualifies Jazz Orchestra for the Iowa Jazz Championships in April. Spencer Paulsen, Carson Parker, Saul Salcido, Ethan Cecil and Andrew Wittmer were named Outstanding Soloists. Congratulations to Northwest Jazz Lab and Jazz Orchestra on their amazing achievement!
